So, while it can carry up to seven occupants, the third row isn’t suitable for adults. All trims of the 2024 X5 also get BMW’s premium Sensafin upholstery in a range of colors. Available choices include Silverstone, Coffee, Cognac, and Black. The 2024 MDX offers leather upholstery. Both vehicles can be outfitted with wood interior accents. The 2024 X5 also offers carbon fiber accents and leather dashboard coverings.
Every 2024 X5 has powered and heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a power-adjustable steering column. Buyers can add ventilation and massaging functions to the front seats. The 2024 Acura MDX isn’t as well equipped.

They also include Bluetooth® and SiriusXM. The 2024 X5 adds a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot and a Harman/Kardon sound system for all trims. Wireless phone chargers are included for either luxury crossover.
The 2024 BMW X5’s trunk can carry an impressive 34 cubic feet for most trims. Meanwhile, because of its three-row design, the 2024 MDX can only accommodate 16 cubic feet. If you want more space, you’ll need to fold its third row. Meanwhile, the 2024 X5 offers folding second-row seats for more cargo capacity. Both vehicles have deep console bins, large glove boxes, and cup holders for all rows of seating.
Two powertrains are available for the 2024 X5 range. First, there’s the 40i, which is available in rear-wheel drive sDrive40i form or all-wheel drive xDrive40i form. This uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged in-line 6-cylinder engine with 375 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. Then, there’s the M60i. This variant only comes with all-wheel drive. It packs a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque.
Either engine pairs with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Steering wheel-mounted paddles are present and enable the driver to manually select gears. Buyers can opt for adaptive suspension, an M Sport exhaust system, M Sport brakes, and an M Sport differential. Some of these are standard for the M60i.
The 2024 Acura MDX offers two engines. There’s a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 with 290 horsepower for most trims. Meanwhile, the Type S variant has a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with 355 horsepower. Either engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard.
The 2024 BMW X5 is also available as a plug-in hybrid with 483 horsepower. Furthermore, this variant can travel for up to 38 miles on electric power at speeds of up to 84mph. The battery can be charged at home or a public EV charging station. The 2024 Acura MDX isn’t available in hybrid form.
Every 2024 BMW X5 comes with front collision warning, blind spot detection, lane departure warning, and city collision mitigation. You’ve also got lane-keeping assistance, parking assistance, and adaptive cruise control. Higher trims add a highway driving assistance system as well. The 2024 Acura MDX lags, as some of these features aren’t available.
